Is tanning a "yay" or a "nay"? Should you get your bikini waxed? Not sure what to bring?
I’ve popped together a little blog that might answer a few commonly asked questions:
I hope this helps to better understand what preparing for a boudoir photo shoot looks like.
TIP 1
If you wax, it’s a good idea to do this a few days prior to your session to avoid red bumps & irritation. I highly recommend www.synnovabeauty.com.au You'll also find her on Face Book https://.facebook.com/synnovabeauty/
TIP 2
Your hands are shown regularly in your photographs as this is how we document your feeling & expression, so ensure you don’t have chipped nail polish, this is something that is extremely difficult to fix in photoshop so to ensure your images are the best they can possibly be remember those nails.
It is fine to have natural nails, however if its your style to have long painted nails that is alright too.
I highly recommend www.synnovabeauty.com.au Tyome is a master at what she does and takes the time to understand your needs.
You'll also find her on Face Book https://.facebook.com/synnovabeauty/
TIP 3
We love the ladies at www.ravishingmakeupandbeautylounge.com they do the most amazing tanning, BUT please remember those tan lines! Be sure to tell the ladies your doing a Boudior Session because if you are deciding to tan you may need to do a nudie one! (Just warning you so you don’t get a shock and have a heart attack on me! Ha ha)
No tan, No Stress, it's totally up to you, I can give you a little colour in photoshop if you wish.
Be sure you’ve given yourself a day or two prior to the session if you are tanning though as you want to ensure it is all washed off prior to your session.
TIP 4
Check out the photos you love! PINTEREST is a great starting point, be-careful it is addictive!
Or I have plenty of images on my website www.picturesofyouphotography.com.au FACEBOOK https://www.facebook.com/picturesofyou09 INSTAGRAM https://www.instagram.com/picturesofyou09/, even better join our private women’s only Face Book group

Don’t be afraid to show me the images you LOVE, the idea isn't to duplicate the exact photos but it will give me a good feel for what you like, this helps me understand the style you love and also gage your comfort zone.
So Pin some of your favourite boudoir shots and poses on Pinterest & send away!
TIP 5
I always also time for up to 3 lingerie changes, its a great idea to mix up the colours and styles, I do have a number of corsets that you are most welcome to use, you just need to bring along your own briefs. We have a variety of shapes & sizes so you'll be bound to find something you like!
Depending on your style and comfort one we can also do just use a sheet as a prop or we can mix it up with artist nudes.
If your keen to go shopping for new lingerie be sure to check out https://www.donnabellalingerie.com.au be sure to tell Lisa I sent you! She is so lovely and will help you find the perfect set of lingerie and size you perfectly at the same time. Donna Bella Lingerie is located in Wangaratta.
TIP 6
On the day of your session our hairdressers, Jack and the Fox Hairdressers https://www.facebook.com/jackandthefoxrutherglen/ https://www.instagram.com/jack_and_the_fox/
& Meri Antic Hairdressers https://www.facebook.com/meriantichairwangaratta/ IG https://www.instagram.com/meriantic/
Decide prior to going into your appointment how you’d like your hair lose & up or down with natural curls. Length looks amazing for a number of poses we do & can always pin it up for a couple if you decide to later on.
Make Up, when you arrive at our make up artist https://www.thesilkendragonfly.com.auhttps://www.instagram.com/thesilkendragonfly/ OR https://www.instagram.com/meriantic/https://www.facebook.com/meriantichairwangaratta/
please come with a clean moisturised face. Once again have an idea of the look you’d like the girls to achieve, natural, moody, funky, what ever your style is.
Lashes can be added for an additional cost outside your session fee, these are a great addition which often make your photos pop.
TIP 7
Wear loose-fitting clothing like track pants or leggings your shoot. Try not to wear anything tight-fitting that will leave red marks on your body.
TIP 8
Grab something light to eat prior to your session, it can be a bit of a work out, ha ha
TIP 9
Put yourself outside of your comfort zone!
That's where all the good stuff is!
Many people plan to be entirely covered up during their session, and that’s totally okay if thats your style & comfort zone!
However once the session gets going, many ladies start to have fun and get a little more daring! You all of a sudden become this brave woman you didn't know you were!
Remember, this session is for you and about you. So regardless of how much you decide to show or not show, it’s all about creating fun, sexy, and classy photographs that will empower you for a life time. On so many occasions I find when you let their guard down those insecurities go and magic just happens.
MOST IMPORTANTLY – Relax and take a deep breath! It’s okay to feel a little nervous before your session most women do, but don't fear you are in good hands!
