Don’t know what to wear to your photo session?
Want something that works without fail?
Looking for a stye that never fails? Try dressing the family in different neutral shades e.g Ivory, grey or beige, then just add a few pops of coordinating colour. Here’s an example colour pallet that may help;
START WITH ONE PERSON FIRST:
It’s way easier to visualise the whole puzzle once you know what one piece looks like! True? Try starting with yourself
Try to compliment more so than match….
We want colours that complement each other: Example soft colours light blue, grey, blush or warm colours, brown, orange, burgundy.
If you are attracted to colourful photographs, then choose a more vivid colour scheme generally, solids work best.
Pops of pattern can definitely look great! But if putting it altogether makes you nervous stick to less complexed combination with just solid colours.
To keep things from looking boring, include textures, chunky knits & lace are always a winner, you want to be avoidingthings like tiny prints, especially small plaid and small stripes!
CONSIDER FOR THE WEATHER
Nothing is worse than being miserably uncomfortable in a perfect outfit! We want you to be comfortable and have fun at your session!
If you’re planning an outdoor session in winter, think coats, scarves, maybe even beanies if you like the wintery look.
In the summer, dress in layers that you can easily take off if you get too hot. This also give you variety.
LAYERS AND ACCESSORIES
The quickest and easiest way to take your outfits from average to amazing!
Think scarves, cardigans, belts, jewellery, socks, & hats.
THINK OF YOUR FEET!
These are often the forgotten…ha ha
In summer I love bare feet if you going a more casual look.
Winter I love big long boots! Your shoes are the last element, but they can really make or break your outfits!
Steer away from bright runners !
REMEMBER
Above all, if you feel good, you will look good!
Choose non restrictive clothing that gives you freedom more, keeps you warm/cool.
Have a little movement your clothing e.g dresses that can sway particularly in little girls dresses it adds motion to your photographs that is particularly appealing to the eye.
NOTE WITH DARK COLOURS
Black and dark navy/brown/grey tend to darken the overall feel of your photos you are wanting to keep your photos feeling bright & airy that way you’ll stand out from the back ground
AVOID LOGOS & TEXT
You don’t want to be distracting from faces, so avoiding logos, text and children’s novelty tops is best. This also helps your photos from dating.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR PHOTOS?
Dreaming of hanging your photographs in your lounge room?
Well you might like to consider what colours are going to look good with your decor.
Example all white decor, you probably don’t want your clothing to be dark. If you’re hanging them in a colourful dining area , then wear vivid outfits.
